Team Red vs Team Green: AMD vs Nvidia
October 30, 2020
We all know that the Playstation 5 will be released by the end of this year. That is if the situation doesn't get any worse. However, it has come to light that two of Sony exclusives are getting a PC port.
Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding. Red Dead Redemption 2 also got a PC port a few months back, which is not a Sony Exclusive, but it was not released on PC at first. However, Detroit becomes Human which was a PS4 exclusive came to PC as well, recently. Now, this is all good news for PC gamers and all, but could there be another reason behind it?
Could this be a market tactic by Sony to make gamers jump on the PS5 bandwagon?
I know it sounds strange, but hear me out. Here is a short summary of Sony's marketing strategy:
So why change the trend now? Why build a PC port to games which have been received with a lot of praise from console gamers? Let me give you a theory. The PS5 is bound to be released and by giving PC gamers a PC port of the exclusive titles, they are setting grounds for selling upcoming exclusive titles bound to be released on PS5 in the future. They will then market those titles with slogans like, "See we make good games! If you want more games like this, buy our most recent console." This could be a very smart move on Sony's part if that is the case. Conditioning gamers to make the platform switch. But at this point, this is just a theory and I could be wrong so take it with a grain of salt.
Nonetheless, I am looking forward to playing these titles once they get released on PC, being a PC gamer myself. Let us know in the comment section what do you make of this information, we'd love to hear from you! Also, tell us what other Sony exclusives you'd like to play on PC?
