Detroit Becomes human was released back in the year 2018. The game is developed by Quantic Dreams and was a timed console-exclusive. However, a PC port of the game was released on December 12. 2019.

The story revolves around three playable characters, all of them are androids. Now that we have established a basis of what the game is about, let's look at how the game performs on PC. How to Improve your PC performance?

So, according to the minimum requirements, you’ll need a pretty decent system to run the game at the lowest settings. Running the game at the recommended requirements is a different story altogether. So, if your system doesn’t meet the minimum requirements then its time for an upgrade. However, if your pc meets the requirements and is still stuttering or you’re facing FPS drops then fear not! Here are some steps you can take to improve the performance:

  • Make sure your GPU drivers are updated to the latest version, be it Nvidia or AMD.
  • Toggle the Win 10 Game mode to ON.
  • Set the priority of the game process to ‘High’
  • Close any unnecessary services and programs in the background.
  • Don’t run the game with too many Firefox or Chrome tabs as they eat a lot of RAM leaving less for the game.
  • If you have any OCed your GPU and processor bring them down to their base speed as OCing sometimes causes instability resulting in degraded performance.
  • Go to GPU software’s Control Panel and tweak the following settings:

Threaded Optimization: On
Power Management: Prefer Maximum Performance
Low Latency Mode: Off
Texture filtering – Quality: Performance

  • Also, make sure that you’re running the latest version of Win 10 as it comes with performance enhancements.
  • You can also use these Graphic settings for getting the best performance out of your pc when running the game:
  1. Display Mode: Full Screen
  2. Resolution Scale: 1.00
  3. FPS Limit: 60
  4. Vsync: Off
  5. Visual Quality: Custom
  6. Texture Quality: Low
  7. Texture Filtering: Medium
  8. Shadow Quality: Low
  9. Model Quality: Low
  10. Depth of Field: Low
  11. Motion Blur: Off
  12. Volumetric Lighting: Low
  13. Screen Space Reflection: Off
  14. Ambient Occlusion : Off
  15. Bloom: Off

This will set your settings to the lowest preset in the game. For now, this is the only option as this is a PC port from a Console port. Another PC port is the Red Dead Redemption 2 which is one of the most poorly optimized games released and it is also a PC port.

Although the good news is that the developers are aware of the problem and seem to be working on the issues and hopefully we will get an update fixing all these performance issues on PC.

Hope the guide helps fix your issues. Do let us know in the comment section the issues you faced while playing the PC version of Detroit Becomes Human. We’d love to hear from you.
