RGB vs Non RGB components
February 22, 2020
RGB components are the gamer's choice to go to when buying a new PC. After all, our PCs are showpieces of us gamers and we want to flaunt them. Companies have realized the demands of their gamer audience and they are always coming up with new innovations of RGB in their components.
However, does RGB lighting add any performance to your system? Do components perform better, if they have RGB lighting installed or not? What kind of performance loss will you have to trade if you get non-RGB components?
Let me give you an answer to all the questions above.
There I said it. Now, this might sound hurtful to some of you, but its a fact. All RGB does is just add to the aesthetic of your case to make it look visually pleasing.
Personally, in my opinion, performance is what matters. So, no need to spend over your budget just because you want a visually appealing case. Instead, save your money, because RGB components tend to cost higher, and get components that give you performance in games. Games don't care what color your GPU is? Or what color your CPU cooler turns in idle or during stress? Just that they are capable enough to perform at a level where they can run the games at stable FPS at HD or FHD resolutions.
At the end of the day, it is your pc and your money that you are willing to spend on. If looks are more important to you than performance then sure you can get RGB components. However, if you are on a budget, then it's better to spend on high performing parts then spend on looks. So, if you have a budget where you can squeeze in RGB components in your pc, then go for them. If not, then you should buy the non-RGB parts because you don't get any performance gains.
Let us know what kind of components you prefer, in your PC? Whether RGB or non-RGB, in the comments section below!
